>Trans-Siberian Orchestra, The Lost Christmas Eve (Lava)

Come on, what says Christmas cheer like pinch harmonics? Sonically akin to
marrying Rush's prog-metal opus 2112 and A Charlie Brown Christmas,
Trans-Siberian Orchestra returns with another holiday-themed rock opera
(like The Who's Tommy, only with angels and snowflakes and whatnot). Seems
weird, but don't scoff; TSO main man Paul O'Neill has built himself quite a
successful cottage industry out of this Santa-nic metal. — NK
