Aaugh. Problems with my health, problems with my hard drive
(crashed), problems with my site (lost access for a period of time),
problems with my e-mail (alternately couldn't send/receive depending
on the day)....but despite the problems and chronic lateness, I'm
doing my beagle best to catch up.

First order of business is last season's winners!

I'm pleased to report we had NINE winners last season, with a
prediction of 48-34:

Eric Albert
Bassman028
Steve Chomicz (2006 winner)
DavidP
gjsliney (2009 winner)
Douglas Haigh (2011,2012 winner)
jlyell (2000, 2011 winner)
Steve Knight
PocketMD (2014 winner)

Five multiple winners and two who are now three time
winners! Congratulations to all of you!

Now, the first batch of predictions for THIS season...

These are as of 1:30pm on Sunday October 9 2016

Jim Metz gets a dozen chocolate chip cookies for his work in getting
things started this season.

51-31
Bassman028 (2016 winner)
Steve Knight (2016 winner)

52-30
DavidP (2016 winner)

53-29

Eric Pincus (2009 winner)

54-28
FlCeltsFan

55-27
Alex Goldblatt
Gene Kirkpatrick (2003 winner)

I know.? BELIEVE me, I KNOW

I'm really, really behind.? This has been a very bad year for me
medically, even in comparison with recent years.? I spend a couple of
months in the hospital after emergency surgery just after last season
started and I never did catch up until now.? I wanted to do this
sooner but there was just no way.? But I finally managed to get to
the point where I can once again do one of my favorite
Celtics-related things.? I haven't even caught up on e-mail, I wanted
to get to this as fast as I could (But I'll catch up on that over the
remainder of this week).

I apologize for my extreme lateness and will do my best to make up
for that.? Thanks to everyone who comes out and had (hopefully) as
much fun as *I* do with this.

So, once again unto the breach...

Predictions (and changes) are accepted until the opening tipoff of
game 01 of the Celtics regular season, which this year is Wednesday,
October 26, at 7:30pm Eastern Time.

You can specify a pen name, pseudonym, alias, what have you (please
keep it relatively clean) with your prediction.? If not, then you're
stuck with the name used on the e-mail (though your e-mail address
will not be used in it's entirety).? One person, one vote, please,
this is NOT a Presidential election.

Lurkers are perfectly welcome, and your anonymity WILL be respected.

If your numbers don't add up to 82 games, your entry will be made
based on the number of wins you predict.

You can look up the current and past predictions by going on over to
www.celticsbeagle.net and click on the link about the
Predictions? List (which will be changed by this upcoming weekend for
this season).? I have a moderately cool site and my cat will
occasionally point and laugh as I try to add new content to it, while
constantly referencing a copy of "Websites for Dummies" on the
desk.? Yes, the site is also behind.? The latest updates, until I say
otherwise, are here.

For those of you who really don't DO websites, (or perhaps your
employer/teacher/spousal unit prefers you don't surf the fun
places),? I will be posting periodic updates to igtc and the
celticsstuff lists simultaneously throughout the season.

You can make your prediction one of two ways:? send your predictions
either to one of the groups, OR to THIS e-mail address.

Keep in mind, if you insist on posting your prediction to the list,
that I do not have time to read every single post, so title it
appropriately, so I know it's a prediction, otherwise it might not
get read.? Even so, I might miss it.? We get a lot of posts this time of year.

Some people go all the way and predict specific playoff results in
preseason.? Those won't count, but if you want to, go for it.? I'm
going to be doing well to have the regular season done in a timely manner.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, they will be
heard based on the size and quality of your bribe.? :)

Let the Prognostications begin

Hi Snoop,
Hope you feel better and better as the season goes on. Thank you for continuing to do this for everyone. It would not be basketball season without your prediction list.

Here we go:

Bosfanjim-55 wins ECF

Bosfanjon=52 wins ECF

We need one more scorer and one more rebounder but I can?t wrap my mind around Boogie.

Go Green!!

Smart is looking very solid on offense. His decision-making is much improved, he is running the team better than IT or Rozier. IT had an off night but that is no excuse for sloppy passing.

Zeller has been consistently useless, he is playing lousy defence. This shouldn?t be a problem once KO returns.

Mickey is looking more comfortable each game, hopefully he will get more minutes.

Rozier is playing well but still makes too many bad decisions. I would like to see more of Jackson running the 2nd unit.

Amir and Horford are looking like a GREAT combo at both ends. Their defense and board work has been super.

So far, so good. It will be interesting to see the rotations in the next couple of games.

Ok, something I forgot to mention last time out. Due to medical and
logistical reasons I will not be doing any updates except on the
weekends, and even then probably on Sunday nights, like
tonight. Anything more is extra at this point.

The only possible exception will be on the evening of the Celtics
first game, where I'll announce the finalized predictions list, but
that post will, at the very earliest come after the game is over, or
possibly the following morning.

The CBW site itself will be updated really, really slowly, until my
health and schedule improve. THAT will be a long time. My body's
taken a beating from many directions, so I'm keeping expectations low
until I'm sure I can do better consistently.

I truly enjoy doing the predictions list and the site, and I realize
I've been very erratic in both to say the least. Thanks to everyone
for the extended patience and support. I'll do my best to be a good
Celtics Beagle.

So, in the first step on the road back, here's the latest
prognostications from our happy band of Boston Basketball fans as of
7:30pm, Sunday October 16, bringing the current total to 26.
