Blown leads

I'm with you, Eric.? It's a case of our expectations gyrating out of control.? Look, if the Cs lose this series, we'll all be bummed for a while, but I think that by July 1, we'd all be in accord that it had been a terrific year.? But they won 66 games!? Shouldn't we be suicidal if they do something other than win the championship?? Hey, I don't know, I just watch the games.
And, heresy of heresies, I have grown to appreciate the Pistons:? they are a tough, professional outfit.? They're not pretty, but they work their butts off and get the job done.? Maxiell and Stuckey are the real deal.
And ask yourself at night, when you're alone, this question:? which would be better - for the Celtics to lose to Detroit, or for the Celtics to lose to the Lakers in the Finals?? You don't need to share your answer with anyone other than your green-tinged soul.? But I'll tell you MY answer, which is affected by my living in the Land of the Beast (LA):? the pain of losing in the ECF to Detroit would be far easier to handle than the pain of being forced to watch Kobe and entire LA sports media machine?gloat about beating the Celtics for the next four months or so.
Of course, if the Cs win the title by beating the Lakers, I'd listen to all 23 hours a day of coverage.? And gloat big time.? Poor Kobe!? What a jerk.

The Celtics have won important game after important game, both in the regular
season and in the playoffs. Fans seem upset because the Celtics haven't won
every game!
The Celtics are one game away from the NBA Finals. How many teams have gone from
the lottery to the Finals in one year?
I've had a blast this season. If fans don't enjoy watching this team, what would
it take to make them happy?
