Let me add a few things. First, I think Pierce will
be fine. Or at least that's what I hope. I agree
with Doc that the early foul trouble got him off his
rhythm and when he came back in the 2nd quarter he
started forcing things like it was 2006-2007. I read
in the paper today that he thought he was too hyped in
the 1st quarter and that after seeing the pregame
video montage it was like "drinking 10 cans of Red
Bull." So, I think he'll be a little calmer before
the game.

That said, guarding LeBron will take some of his
offensive game away. I'd like to see him be more
selective on offense, and concentrate on straight line
moves and standstill jumpers. That's the best use of
his energy, I think, on the offensive end. I'd like
to see him a get a call too. He went the entire game
without free throws and it wasn't like he wasn't
driving to the rim. He was, he just didn't get the
calls. It was nice to see Pierce rip the refs just a
little bit in the paper today, saying that he's been
in foul trouble for a lot of the playoffs and that he
needs to do a little better job staying out of early
foul trouble. What he should have added is that if he
was getting the same type of ticky-tack calls on the
offensive end, he'd be averaging 5 or 6 points a game.

Speaking of the refs, Mike Brown, the supremely cocky
coach of the Cavs, continues to piss and moan about
the calls he should have gotten. First, in the post
game, when talking about LeBron's struggles, he says
that he could have gotten more calls. This was after
LeBron took ten free throws in the first half alone.
Then today in the paper he says that Perk 'bumped'
LeBron on the last layup attempt that rimmed out. My
ass. There's no way that gets called, especially
after KG's layup (where he got hit on the arm) and Z's
over-the-back tip-in the basket before that, two more
egregious non-calls in my opinion. Mike Brown needs
to shut his pie hole.

All in the all, the officiating was much better in the
2nd half, though for the life of me I couldn't believe
that Sam Cassell can get a cheap flagrant foul on the
LeBron for unintentionally hitting him in the face,
but later when Z knees Sam in the head, nothing
happens although the refs saw everything. According
to Sam, they said it was incidental. My ass. The NBA
protects LeBron WAY TOO much. He's a freak of nature,
a combination of strength and quickness that is
unparalleled in history, and he's the last player that
needs protection. And the offensive call on Rondo
against West was a terrible, terrible call.

As for Ray, he just needs some shots. He looked very
tentative, and let Wally, of all people, D him up
effectively. Listen Ray, you can get by Wally, and
you can shot over him too, so get some balls and let
the ball fly. I expect a better game from Ray
tonight.

Last, since Cleveland often plays a West/Gibson
backcourt, I think Doc should experiment with a
Cassel/Rondo lineup to match them. Put Rondo at the
point, and let Cassell post up West/Gibson. And I
hope Tony continues to get minutes. Since Posey is a
little banged up, I'd like to Tony get a few more
opportunities against LeBron, especially in the 1st
half.
