I am glad we have home court advantage.  Whew.  Wonderful game.

Everybody came up huge today.  And it's about time.

Strangely, I think the Cleveland series is going to be

a breeze after this.

KG dominated in the post as the C's made a concerted

effort to score in the paint.

The officials let them play, and all Atlanta's weak

drives ended in blocked shots, turnovers, or missed

shots.  And the free throw advantage was even, 18

Atlanta attempts to 19 Boston attempts.  If the series

had been called like today's game was called, it would

have ended in 5 or less games.

To everyone in attendance.  Well done.  The Hawks were

intimidated from the tip, and the C's were sky high.

Perkins can now change his name to Kendrick "Big Game"

Perkins.  It seemed like he personally shadowed Joe

Johnson all day and there were countless times when he

popped up outta nowhere and contained what otherwise

might have been an easy drive or jump shot for

Johnson.  Just a great, great game.  10 points, 10

rebounds, 5 blocks.

It nice to know that KG, Perk, and Rondo, among

others, didn't get any sleep last night because they

were so anxious about taking care of business.  That's

the level of commitment I want out of a professional

athlete.  We know they wanted this thing as much as us

fans do.  Doc had a pretty good line in the postgame

press conference too, saying that he popped an Ambien

last night and slept for 10 hours.

Paul Pierce came out ready to play.  His numbers were

just OK (because he only played 30 minutes and the

game was over from the beginning), but he set the

tone, going to the rim time after time.

And to the feisty Atlanta Hawks, thanks for playing.

Good job making a series out of it, but when the big

lights got turned on you reverted to what you've been

all season, a young team of little real substance.

Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Motheruckers, you're lucky

this isn't the Kentucky Derby.  See you next year!

Ryan
