Pierce was terrific during the 2nd half --- though there were a few times
when Ray Allen was wide open b/c of Pierce drives and PP seemed to look
exclusively for KG. Minor quibble.

It amazes me that Pierce has not got more credit both this year for his
play and throughout his career especially by the national press. It's not
that he doesn't have his flaws, but what player doesnt?

It's especially grating that T-Mac gets more notice, credit, etc when he's
accomplished so much less. I'd take Pierce 100 times out of 100 over
T-Mac.

Pierce IMO is a 2nd or 3rd team All-NBA pick this year.

And Perkins is fulfilling his promise of an extremely solid, if
unspectacular NBA Center --- the kind who will be in the NBA for 15 years.
In fact if you look at their comparable seasons (age 23 vs 24) his numbers
are pretty identical to his current backup PJ Brown:

What people seem to miss is that you need a guy like Perk both from an ego
standpoint -- he seems to be content to get his 8-10 pts w/o any plays
being run for him -- and a salary cap standpoint when building a team.
Even if he gets a raise to $6M per after this salary, that's about half
what chumps like Dampier and Curry routinely get paid.

And Paul took over the game near the beginning of the fourth quarter,
going on one of his "utterly unstoppable" rolls: In 3 minutes and 37
seconds, the Celtics scored 16 points and went from a 9-point lead to a
19-point lead. Of those 16 points, Pierce scored 12 and had assists on the
other 4. Just an amazing display of basketball mastery.
