Off and on subject

I don't see Donny as anti-ref in general. However, in this game even
Gorman was criticizing the refs. The refs were abominable. After the 1st
team got a 12+ pt lead, they let the Celtic subs have it. Powe, had 3
charges against in which he was clearly in position and got walloped in
the middle of the numbers. It became so rampant that finally JB was
called for such a phanthom foul that he left the floor in shock and
disbelief. Tony Allen jumped from the bench and put his arm gently
around his neck as if to console him and say welcome back... to the NBA.

By now C. Paul was warming the pine. He had 3 early fouls when Rondo
made him look foolish both on defense and offense. Donny and Gorman had
been rolling out the usual accolades, how Paul was a great all star, how
great he had been for the city all that gibberish while Rondo was
running circles around him. Rondo was reminding him that you can't rest
on your laurels.

Meanwhile the refs take over the game and what could have been a 20 pt
lead is now less than 5. Paul owes the fact he was able to contribute
down the stretch to the refs, certainly not to his talent, at least not
in this game.
The miraculous shot he made falling into the stands happened because he
had been pushed into that corner by Rondo's great defense and you have
to admit he was at least lucky, even maybe admit he pulled it out of a
hidden part of his anatomy, as he was falling into the crowd.

Yeah, C.P showed me something this game. He's not as good as Rondo,
despite what the hype says.

As for your comments on KG, that's a bad rap he has and undeserved,
about not taking the shots when we need it. It makes no sense and this
year is not the previous years.

Jorge

I kept hearing them beat the drum that Rondo was
actually outplaying MVP candidate Chris Paul. Yet Paul
and lowly sub PG Pargo combined to record 12 of
20 shooting, 34 pts, 5 threes, and 13 assists to beat
us along with our 20 turnovers. So how well did Rondo
actually do?

At best Rondo is a split-personality player from quarter to
quarter, half to half, and game to game. Is Rondo now the
best finisher in the league as Donny M. suggested Sat.
night? Hard to believe.

What I saw was Chris Paul come through like a champ when
it counted in the final minutes while Rondo did not and our
best player Garnettt as usual was nowhere to be found in the
final minutes. Some players live for the last shot while others
avoid taking it. Garnett has never been one to put himself on
the line with a final or penultimate shot.

Joe
