Robert Swift --- from what i've read, the Sonics sound like they have
little to no interest in tendering an offer to him, if they don't then we
don't have to trade for him .... i wouldn't offer him more than the
Veterans min (~900K). I believe Gorman who said last draft nigth that the
C's brass is over Swift (b/c of "lifestyle choices"). But... with Clifford
Ray on the bench i'm willing to take a chance on just about any big man
and see what C-Ray can do.
#60 --- Marcelus Kemp (6-4, SG, Nevada, Senior) is the guy i'd like to
take a shot at:
http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/marceluskemp.html
Strengths: 2-guard with prolific offensive skills ... Excellent outside
shooter with good range ... Has a scorers mentality and knows how to score
in a variety of ways ... Fundamentally sound ... Solid in his midrange
game with a quick release and good shooting mechanics ... Excels at catch
and shoot. Also knows how to create shots for himself off the dribble. A
decent athlete, though nothing outstanding ... Plays with a lot of
maturity and composure, not easily rattled and steps up in clutch
situations ... Excellent free throw shooter ... Solid defensively,
although he doesn't pick up a lot of steals, he stays in front of his man
and puts forth good effort ... Has a solid understanding of the game and
plays well in a team concept
Ainge's comments --- Ainge has been reported as saying they don't know if
they'll find someone that can help this team right away. Times like this
drive me crazy since there's no reason the NBA shouldn't have a Triple-A
like minor league system (Former C's coach Jon Jennings is working on
bringing a C's affiliated D-league team to Maine reportedly). Teams like
the C's, Blazers and Houston, who do a great job drafting are essentially
penalized by not having room for more rookies. You're telling me we
wouldnt' be arguing here, on Celtisblog and Celticsstufflive about our
Triple A roster over the summer if such a thing existed? hogwash. Get it
done NBA. And put the Celtics D-League team in Gainesville, FL while
you're at it :)

I think Hardin would be a good fit at 30. An athletic big man who can run
the court. Maybe Billy Walker a skywalking Tony Allen replacement?
If the Sonics go with Lopez , could we see, as someone mentioned Powe or
Baby (hopefully Scal) for Swrift?
A sleeper at 60 will be Richard Roby. He broke his hand so didn't play in
the pre-drafts but has good size at 6'6" and is a good shooter. Was once
predicted to go in the first round,
Kenyon Martin's half brother I believe.
