Wow (or, point guard thoughts)

Watching the game last night, when House stroked that one sweet jumper, I thought, "This guy needs to be freed from bringing the ball up so he can focus on getting loose and sinking treys." Especially with no Posey, we really need Eddie to be able to concentrate on what he does best: sink opportunistic Js.
Re: the Cassell situation, I read a comment from Doc in the Orange County Register the other day saying they were "saving Sam for the second half of the season" to keep him fresh for the stretch run. If it works, God bless 'em; then you could move House to the 2 and Tony to the 3, which still leaves you a bit undersized but could pay off. The real question to me is, will they keep Pruitt around after activating Cassell? His deal is up at the end of the year (with a team option), so waiving him to sign somebody like Mutombo wouldn't haunt you cap-wise for two years, unlike if you waived Giddens or POB.
I know some folks on the list like Pruitt, but it sure isn't easy to like his shooting % or nearly 1:1 assist:turnover ratio. With Rondo around, it's hard to see Gabe as the PG of the future; and with Tony and possibly Giddens as sturdier options at the two, the best I can imagine Gabe turning into would be a Delonte-type swing guard off the bench. And even as a rookie with limited minutes, Delonte had way better numbers than what Pruitt's putting up. Pruitt hardly seems irreplaceable, and if Sam's healthy and in shape when he's activated, it's hard to argue keeping him on as a 4th PG given our other roster needs.
