Posey's Decision to Leave

The team blew it with Posey. AFAIK the "competitive" offer only came
*after* Posey was getting higher offers from other teams. Think about
it from his perspective, he gets to choose between a team that has
nickel and dimed him at every term or a team(the hornets) that
respected him and acted like they wanted him through the entire
process. I don't fault Posey's reasoning at all. Look at the Brand
debacle for another example.

(BTW, it will be very interesting to see what happens to Ray Allen in the next couple of years, as Danny Ainge was in a similar position in the late-'80s and he got traded to Sacramento in the hopes of building the Celtics for the future with Joe Kleine. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Ainge for more information. Peh, we all know what happened next...)

So his best bet may have been to stay with the "Big Three" and ride this ship to the end rather than taking a gamble with another team and risk getting traded. Not to mention the stress of uprooting the family once again. We all know how much moving sux- James Posey and co. haved moved 5 times in the last 10 years:
