Most teams go 8 deep in the playoffs. I seem to remember the 83-84 Celtics going 10 deep:

Starters: Parish, Bird, Maxwell, Henderson, Johnson
Regular Bench: McHale, Wedman, Ainge, Buckner, Carr
11th man: Kite
12th man: (Carlos) Clark

Obviously, the 85-86 team used an 8 man rotation
Starters: Parish, Bird, McHale, Ainge, Johnson
Regular Bench: Walton, Wedman, Schiting

I think that Wedman got injured and the C's used 7 players in the final round.

The 1st of the Detroit 80's teams went 9 deep with a regular bench of Edwards, Rodman, Salley and Johnson...

Any have any more recent examples? I haven't really paid attention to the finals since the C's became non-factors...

During the game (or pregame), Tommy was talking about minutes in the
playoffs and posited that the Cs might go 10 deep, using Posey, Leon,
 Cassell,
House, Davis, and Brown. Seems to me that few teams go more than 9
 deep, and most
go with 8. Is this team the exception? It's hard to see ANY of those
 five
sitting out for the rest of the year, although I'd concede that on
  that 10
main roster, Brown is #10 and House #9.

Gabe, Scal, Pollard: sorry guys, have a seat.

Round One: Cs 4-0.
