Perkins & Davis For Bogut

With news that Andrew Bogut may be on the trading
block, it presents Danny Ainge with the perfect
opportunity to 
solidify the Celtics center position in the offseason.

Perkins and Davis for Bogut works out well for both
clubs as Milwaukee receives the beef and defense it
frontcourt desperately needs, while the Celtics
upgrade their center position, acquiring a very good
young big man who can rebound, score, and pass.
Actually, I'm not convinced that Bogut is a better NBA center than Perkins at this point in their careers.  Looking at the stats Bogut is a slightly better rebounder (13.3 vs 12.0 per 48 min) but, hard to believe, Perkins is a better free throw shooter.  Perkins is generally the 5th option offensively and is probably a better fit with the current line up.  Also Perkins can be a very good physical defender, as shown in his recent  performance against Shaq.  Could Bogut and Garnett have handled Shaq and Stoudemire as well as Perkins and Garnet did?

Bogut has more "potential" and can be an offensive threat but interior defense is an equally, if not more, important part of any team.  BTW Bogut and Perkins are almost exactly the same age, Bogut is 18 days younger.
