While not on par with Bird making a comeback, it looks like Eric
Williams might once again be walking through that door.
He might be 35 with bad knees, but I say, why the hell not? He might
still be able to keep things organized on the defensive end as a sub
with short minutes, has been widely touted as a great locker room
presence, can teach fellow undersized PFs Davis and Powe a few moves
in the low post, and he's the original Celtic. I've always liked Eric
Williams.

some thoughts on various big men (and one little guy):

Eric Williams -- couldn't agree more Kestas! I've always had a soft spot
in my heart for EWill... and would love to see him get a shot at a ring
with us. Totally a locker room guy at this point... i doubt he has more
than 5 min/gm left in him, but probably one of my favorite Celtics of all
time.

Big men, in general -- i'd disagree -- with a point made on
CelticsStuffLive i think by JB (another terrific show though!) -- that the
C's search for another big man has something to do with Pollard's health,
but more to do with the fact that we're (a) still very small (even with a
healthy Pollard) up front and (b) we're very inexperienced up front.

Brian Skinner -- I was worried that he seemed to be nowhere on our radar,
since he's big, can rebound and score, and still in his prime. Sounds like
the lure of the sure-er thing in PHO won out. Sounds like we might have
offered him a guaranteed deal:

(via hoopshype). "The Suns signed [Skinner] on Monday, after the free
agent weighed a Boston offer against the Suns' partially guaranteed deal"
-- Arizona Republic

Esteban Batista --- I'd always rather add another or take a chance on a
big over a swing guy (like Manuel). Swing guys are a dime-a-dozen, while
talented bigs always seem hard to find. Batista sounds like a banger, and
while he hasn't shown much while playing with ATL, i'd be into taking a
chance on him over Manuel.

Gabe Pruitt --- I know he's not a big man, but I still have absolutely
ZERO feel for this guy, his role on the team short- and long-term. He
could be a great find (a la Gomes, Greene and Powe) or a bust... i have no
handle on him. His game at the SL looked like any of a 1,000 SG/PG types.

Glen Davis --- on the other hand seems like that kind of charismatic, hard
worker that you'd love to have 12 of on your team.
