Some thoughts on Batista based purely on NBA numbers

1. He's purely an inside player. Perfect! Check out his shot selection
from nba.com/hotzones. Less than 5% of his shots are from outside the
paint.

2. Unfortunately he doesn't make as many as you might think. Field
goal percentage in the 40's as opposed to above 50.

3. Plus, when he's fouled, his free throw shooting is not so hot: about 60%.

4. Nevertheless he averaged about 8 pts per 40 minutes of action.

5. But he is a rebounding machine: he gets them at a rate of 12 per 40
minutes of action. That's very good!

6. I don't know how good his defense is. He tends to get more steals
than blocks. But he looks like a great backup for Perk.
