Oden out for the season

I don't get why people are feeling so much doom and gloom about our
"window". The current level of talent on our team we got as a result
of the trade is less important than the change of culture that the
trade signifies. NBA teams win with talent, but for the most part that
talent comes from free agents or trades. Even when bad teams draft
good players, the perennial losers just act as farm teams for talented
players who then sign elsewhere or demand trades. Until we got Garnett
and Allen we were seen as that sort of basketball siberia. Marquee
names didn't want to sign or be traded to boston. So we were stuck on
a treadmill, developing talent and losing it.

By getting Garnett and Allen we made a statement, that the Celtics are
a serious team and one to be reckoned with. This change in the overall
perception of our team will have positive changes long after the
"window" of our current stars is over.
