EGG WROTE:

True that Lewis (four years younger than Ray Allen) could
have been signed for a lot less.   But the FACT is that Orlando
gave up practically nothing for him and that his salary for the
next three years (of a six-year contract) is virtually equal to
that of Ray Allen.

2007-08 - Allen $16 mill; Lewis 15.6 mill
2008-09 - Allen $17.4 mill; Lewis 17.2 mill
2009-10 - Allen $18.8 mill; Lewis 18.9 mill

the problem isnt' the first 3 years of Lewis' deal --- i don't think
anyone around the NBA thinks that's a problem.  It's the last 3 which are
seen nearly universally as out-of-whack... especially when ORL wasn't
really bidding against anyone.

2010-11 - Lewis $20.5 mil; KG $16.4 mil (2009-10)
2011-12 - Lewis $22.1 mil; KG $18.8 mil (2010-11)
2012-13 - Lewis $23.8 mil; KG $21.1 mil (2011-12)

if people think our cap is bad, wait until HOward, Lewis and Tony Battie
are taking up 80% of ORL's cap
