Good post, Sabino. Wish you posted more often. 

The Allen trade no doubt had some influence in Garnett changing 
his mind on accepting a trade to Boston (i.e. willing to re-sign with us). 
But his change of heart was more to do with trades to his two favored 
teams (Phoenix and Chicago) falling through.   I don't think the Lakers
were ever legitimate players in such a deal. 

That said, Garnett is a terrific player and a terrific clubhouse guy.   
And I am happy to have him here.   Who wouldn't be?
