Kevin McHale

McHale is just doing to Riley exactly what Danny did to McHale: Dumping
Ricky and Blount by taking back an aging, injury-prone big contract who
isn't a walking tumor for the basketball team (Wally for us, Antoine for
Minny). Maybe Ricky and Blount will work in Miami with Shaq and Wade
around, but I doubt it. Regardless, they have zero value in the league
at this point. Everyone knows what they are. Antoine has zero value
also, but at least the bulk of his damage is inflicted on the floor. 

McHale has been a terrible GM over the years, but I like this move and
think he did well in the KG deal. He wasn't going to get equal value,
but he made sure he got Al Jefferson -- a young, gifted big man (cue
obnoxious RMN comment here). Ryan Gomes is an NBA player also. If Foye
and Brewer pan out, and he can nail some of these upcoming draft picks,
he might stumble out of this mess in decent shape.
