Deja vu

This is the weakness of this "3". Whereas the Bird "3" was an inside
force, even with Garnett this is essentially an outside force. Despite
the hoopla I have trouble seeing them mesh and keep having flashbacks to
watching them perform in their individual teams last year. Garnett
hopelessly frustrated with the general ineptitude and basically giving
up, Paul missing a year and probably needing some time to get back to
the wars and Allen on a normal work day just hoisting them up even if
they weren't going in while Seattle fell hopelessly behind and he acted
his same cool self.

To compound things, as Eric and others have mentioned, Rondo's skills
are being wasted because all of his type of players went to Minnesota.
Call me crazy but I think they will do as well as the B's this year...
and years to come.

With the game on the line, Paul Pierce dribbles the ball
up himself, goes one-on-three, and tosses up a bad shot.

Sigh.

In general, this game was packed with one-on-one moves
(often ending in kickouts for a (missed) three-point shot)
and precious little passing.

And, as I said last year, what is Rondo doing out there if
he doesn't get to bring the ball up? Ray Allen seems almost
as big an offender on this as Paul. Only Garnett habitually
gets the rebound and looks for his point guard.
