Wow, talk about a half-assed effort.

Thanks to the total inability of the former Worcester Centrum to keep
the floor dry--never mind the crowd off the wet floor--the Good Guys
took a 36-33 halftime lead into a technical win as the game was cancelled.

It seemed the whole night was a story of halfs. In the first half of
the first half, the C's destroyed the Nets. In the second quarter,
Boston's bench got it's collective butt kicked.

Tony Allen almost got to play, but Doc Rivers took a second look at
the semi-aquarium that passed for the floor, and another look at the
gigantic knee brace on Tony's leg, and sent Tony back on the
bench. Best non-sub move in three years, that was.

At Halftime, people realized the odds of someone ending up in an
ambulance headed to the hospital were only getting bigger by the
minute, and the second half was cancelled. Some idiot thought it
would pacify 11,000 people to promise the Celtics would sign
autographs for 30 minutes. The players themselves had more smarts
than not to realize what would happen 29 minutes later and started
heading for the locker room.

By this time, security had their hands full with everyone waving
things to be autographed, and no peaceful end in sight. WEEI took
the better part of valor and ended the broadcast--meaning they got
the hell out of Dodge.

Earlier in the day, some people had speculated that there might be
more Celtics games in Worcester, but after tonight, I suspect the
venue's phone number will be permanently lost.

So, all that's left is the mopping up.

and that's the view from the doghouse....well, half of it, anyway... :)
