Celtic Thug: Celtics Discussing Trade For Damon Stoudamire

To go into a Bill Walton impersonation for a second,
"HORRIBLE." There's no way I'd give up Big Baby for
Stoudamire. I think the point guard position is quite
fine right now (everything's quite fine, actually).
Eddie House has played well, Rondo has been great, and
Ray and Tony can fill in the rest of the time. What
I'd do is wait and see if we need an extra point
guard, see who gets cut at the end of the preseason,
and pick and choose from that. We're a great
destination and I'd hate to see us overspend in the
preseason for an over-the-hill, undersized point guard
with questionable character. Asterix said Sam Cassell
and I think if we're going to make a move for a
veteran point, we do it for someone who can still
play. Big Baby will be ready to contribute sooner
than most realize and if (knock on wood) we suffer a
big man injury he's going to be needed right away.
Back-up point guards are a dime a dozen, right? Let's
not trade our most promising youngster for something
we can get off the street...
