I agree with your ideas on the 3 types of BBIQ (IQ to maximize your own
performance, IQ to understand opponents/game situations, IQ to
understand how to make your teammates into winners).

I think Big Al is good at the first one.

K.G. is great at the first two (Which is why he folds in the playoffs in
general (especially head to head against Tim). He's got more
heart/talent than anyone, has been on teams w/ good talent in the past,
yet he can't can barely get to the playoffs, and never out of the first
round, without Cassell's IQ on his team.

Duncan is a master of all 3. He not Kobe/Lebron has been the best
player(talent+IQ+results), in the game for years.

I would
only add there is BBIQ as an individual in maximizing
your performance, harnessing the skills you have (vet
savy, athleticism, size, pure BB skills...)

...there is also BBIQ in understanding what to do to win a game,
understanding in-game situations, match-ups, opponents
weaknesses and the like.

Finally to me there is BBIQ within a team context,
putting it all together, blending your skills, with
your teammates, knowing your roles, without ego, where
your joy is in successful execution and winning
