Ray Allen off the bench

I don't see this happening for a few years, actually, but I like the concept. With all the talk about the "3" and with his standing in the NBA community, I think Allen wouldn't like to be the one who doesn't start. But, to me, Tony at 2 guard (as Mark, the other, noted) would fit better. The defense would be stronger. Still, it would leave three weak shooters alongside Pierce and Garnett--not good. So, you would have to go whole hog and put Perk on the bench, too. I don't see that happening, however good an idea it would be.
I was encouraged by Tony's general movement, especially defensively. He's ready to play, according to the doctors. I don't understand how they know when an athlete is ready to test a broken part, but pain does not mean damage is being done. Good sense would caution him against dunking, however. Looking forward to seeing Batista play. If he or Davis can make a contribution, we're looking good. Gene
