16 and 17

I think Manuel is out. My guess is the last spot comes down to a
head-to-head competition between Wallace and Jones.

I think these are the locks:

PGs: Rondo, House, Pruitt
SGs: R. Allen, T. Allen
SFs: Pierce, Posey
PFs: KG, Scal, Powe, G. Davis
Cs: Perk, Pollard, Batista

If that's accurate, then Jones may have the edge for the final spot
based strictly on need. Wallace is more of a 3/4. Jones is a 2/3. Tony
Allen is coming off major knee surgery. They need depth at the SG spot.

I think Wallace has more potential, but we're not really in the
potential business anymore.

Since T. Allen seems able to play, I think that Manuel is the obvious
first cut. That leaves one more and I wonder how they will make that
decision. We're hearing that Batista and Pruitt are playing well, that
Powe has his moments--nothing about Davis or B. Wallace on the court.
Since Batista is the only one, other than Manuel, with a make-good
contract, I will be interested to see how that issue works out. Batista
sounds like he could contribute more minutes than Pollard. Could we see
a situation where Pollard becomes a coach, able to dress out if the
roster falls below 15?

Some day soon we'll have a few fixed cameras at camp and see all the
workouts. I wonder how America gets any work done with all the escapes
provided by the net. Gene
