Little fear of Allen at point

Since the morning papers are reporting that Tony Allen will play a lot of backup point guard, let me disagree with most everyone and say that I have little fear about that. (I didn't say no fear.) He's not a dribbling maniac and he may not see the court like Rondo, but I think he can serve the team well. During his senior year at OSU he played a lot of virtual point, since the real point guard was slow to come around. He did well. His strength is driving and I think, when the ball comes back to him, he will have a size advantage in going one on one with the defense. He does not think shoot first, so he will work to get the ball going to the scorers. All that is good, plus having him on the floor and getting him ready, letting his defense come to the fore, is positive. With House, Posey, one of the big 3 alongside him, I'm ok with it. He and House will form a good duo, I think. I don't expect it to be pretty all the time, but the more we have true defensive players
out there, the better. Cheers, Gene
