He sets a good pick, has good feet and footwork, soft hands, and knows
how to finish or pass. Makes him a good pick-and-roll guy. He also holds
his own defensively.
He doesn't stretch the floor like Scal theoretically does, but is anyone
really telling their guys "Whatever you do, don't help off of
Scalabrine!" Scal is a better defender at this point. But again, the
goal is June. Personally, I think Big Baby can be a better player than
Scal by playoff time if he continues to improve and get the experience
he needs.
Doesn't hurt that Big Baby is a good 10-12 inches taller than Scal.
As for the other point of note from the game last night ... I liked that
we put the ball in Ray Allen's hands at the ends of quarters. I thought
he did a good job of creating good scoring opportunities. He made one of
those shots, missed one, and was fouled on the final one (unfortunately,
he missed the FTs). I'll take that over the Pierce dribble, dribble,
dribble, fallaway 20-footer any day.

you have to think that once big baby gets some time
under his considerable belt, someone's going to be
freed up for us to trade for another piece. i'm
guessing that someone is scal.
big baby looked great in the little time he was in
there. did some very nice things, even defensively.
