Nice to win - and some concerns

Definitely nice to get the win. KG and Ray really got it done today. Paul struggled.
The same concerns that many of us had in the summer are still there. Namely, Perk and
Rondo as starters on a championship level team. We have alternately seen Perk get
destroyed by Haywood, followed by Rondo getting abused by TJ Ford.
I think Perk would be a decent backup. I think that's what he projects as too. Rondo, I believe,
projects higher. I have faith in him as a project. He's not ready for the keys on a championship
team. He's just not. We need to get a vet pg in here. Problem is, Danny has pretty well
shot his wattage. Basically, all we have as trade fodder at this point (with any kind of salary) is
Scal (and maybe Tony, and a draft pick). If Rondo doesn't really progress rapidly, I expect Danny
to make a move for a PG NLT January.
We don't have the luxury to wait on him to be ready. We are in win now mode (or win in next 3 years
mode, at least.)
I don't think Danny yet has the bullets to get both a vet PG *and* a vet Big. In circumstances when
both KG and Perk are both out (be it with injury, or foul trouble), we become a very weak rebounding
team with Scal in there as your primary big. That is beyond weak. Scal is okay as a complimentary
player when KG is out there. You might even make that argument when Perk is out there (although
that's maybe a stretch), but when they both are out, Scal simply can't rebound/defend well enough
against quality bigs.
With KG or Perk out there, Scal is probably/possibly a better big option than BB or Powe. When they
are out, I'd stick Powe out there for rebounding/toughness/defense.
If Danny only has enough ammo to bring in one of PG or Big, I'd opt for PG.
I know it's early on, but I've had these same concerns since summer.
All that said, really nice win. Props to Ray and KG.
