us against the world...

My favorite thing I got out of the Toronto game was
the shots they showed of the bench. Guys were standing
throughout the game, involved, cheering on teammates,
talking trash with the opposition. It looked like they
were all hoping a fight would break out so they could
race onto the court to "get the back" of their
teammates (Yes, I know this would result in
suspensions for the whole lot, but it's what they
looked like.)

You read about how everybody in the NBA is friends
these days, and there really is no more anymosity
between teams like in the rivalries of the old days.
But I get a sense (from a 1000 miles away through
media coverage) that our team feels that they are on a
mission. That it is them against the world. This was
brough home by the TV sideline reporter who said a
couple of the Toronto fans asked him why our bench was
acting like this was Game 3 of the finals. Simple.
Because they believe. They are a on a mission. It's
us against the world, baby. It's going to be a great
ride. Finally.

PS. My favorite thing from opening night was the video
they showed before the player introductions. They're
showing highlights, the music is building to a
crechendo, then it goes silent and black for a beat...
then a close up of Garnett yelling. I love it. I
couldn't find an offical version of it on celtics.com,
but below is link to a fan's recording of it on
youtube. Good stuff.
