I think it's important to note that Pierce is nowhere near as good as Kobe, and probably not as good as McGrady.  I think a team might be able to win with Kobe (well, with a player with Kobe's skills and more of a willingness to be a team player).  Maybe not.  In any case, Pierce is not in that league, and that's a big problem.

By the way, I have no solution to our problems.  Getting the #1 pick was my plan A, B, and C.
