ugh, not me.

I just don't see it with Gordon. He's terrific some games, invisible the
next... he strikes me as a more slightly more-talented Vinnie Johnson.

And while i was high on Thomas around draft time last year I fear he's a
Desmond Mason type -- that wow's you with athleticism but doesn't get much
better as player.

I'd prefer Nocionni + Duhon -- though there's no way to make that work
under the salary cap rule IIRC b/c Nocioni is a rest. FA.

gordon, thomas and their pick for pierce? i'd go for
that.

adding gordon, thomas and two of the top 10 picks in
this year's draft would be a serious infusion of
talent, young though it may be.

Deng isn't going anywhere. They won't trade him for
Pierce. We probably
could get Gordon and the pick -- and maybe Thomas.

This is a strong draft. Despite the disappointment
over not getting 1
or
2, there are a number of good players after that.
They're not
franchise-changers but, as we've seen, neither is
Pierce. If we can get
two of the top 10 players in this draft, along with a
good young player
or two, I think we have to do it.

Of course, I don't think for a second -- not even a
blink -- that the
Celtics will trade Pierce. I think they stubbornly
believe the best
thing to do is to try to trade to build around Pierce.
Dumb.
