Deng isn't going anywhere. They won't trade him for Pierce. We probably
could get Gordon and the pick -- and maybe Thomas.

This is a strong draft. Despite the disappointment over not getting 1 or
2, there are a number of good players after that. They're not
franchise-changers but, as we've seen, neither is Pierce. If we can get
two of the top 10 players in this draft, along with a good young player
or two, I think we have to do it.

Of course, I don't think for a second -- not even a blink -- that the
Celtics will trade Pierce. I think they stubbornly believe the best
thing to do is to try to trade to build around Pierce. Dumb.

agree that chicago might be a good trading partner,
but please not ben wallace for a pierce package. he's
tied up at big money for several years and is already
showing signs of slowing down. and notice that detroit
hasn't missed him near as much as you might expect. 

a pierce trade to chicago would have to include deng
and either gordon/heinrich/tyrus thomas/nocioni, and i
just don't see them going for that. best case would be
pierce for deng and thomas.
