Trade Telfair where?

More importantly it will be the last year of his current contract. A player at the stage of his carreer that Bassy is in can't afford to spend such a crucial year in limbo. So the Celts do have some leverage there. Of course you have to weigh the damage it would do to the team from the free agent point of view to really play hardball with the guy.

I don't really believe Wyc devalued him much more than what he was already. The terrible showing during the season and the incident itself had brought him down. Stating that he was done with the organization was only stating the obvious.

No, Telfair accepts a buyout because he's between a rock and a hard place.
If the Celts neither trade nor waive him, he spends a year of his playing
career in limbo, not playing for any team. He'd likely prefer to settle for

a $1 mill buyout rather than sit for a whole season. At least that is
the present thinking of Wyc and Danny.
