Trade Telfair where?

Precisely where I was going.

Maybe Eggy has some inside information about Haywood that none of the sports reporters at the Washington Post have been able to uncover.

If I recall, a long time ago we traded a guy named Rick Robey for a supposed "cancer". Now, I am in no way trying to equate Brendan Haywood with Dennis Johnson. My original point was that we ought to be trying to get some value for Telfair. My opinion is that Haywood brings something as a player to the team because you are still going to need some back-up bigs. The deal I suggested would basically substitute paying a lot of money for Scalabrine for paying a lot of money for Haywood. I'll take Haywood over Scalabrine any day of the week.

There's a critical assumtion here: that all coaches want to win, AND that
this desire will cause them to sublimate their natual likes and dislikes
in service to the greater goal of winning. I don't know Eddie Jordan, so
he may well be that kind of guy. But if there are players out there that
can't do this, why do we assume coaches can? It's not like we can't
identify a list of craptastic coaches that stink for other reasons. Why
not this reason, too?
