this is surprising -- the lasting image i have is Hibbert gangling (is
that a word?) around vs. Florida 2 years ago. He looked like a cross
between Kandi and Acie Earl + some size. i guess he's come a long way.
By my calculations the lowest pick we can get is #5 (if we end 2nd which
is the lowest/highest we'll finish).
If we don't land Oden, my 1st preference would be to move the pick as part
of a package for an established guy (Garnett, Gasol, Marion, Brand) and a
low 1st rounder.
Failing that, I'd take whoever Gene Kirkpatrck endorses -- since he's
always right on the money!
Outside of that i guess my order of prefernce would be:
1. Oden
2. Durant
3. Noah - i think he'll be a Kirilenko type in the pro's. Think a mix of
Waltah's energy with Marion's talent.
4. Horford - surprised that he's moved ahead of Noah on many peopele's
lists but he's a beast down low. Would be a nice 1-2-3 punch with the
Bayou Brothers (Al + Perk).
5. Julian Wright - might keep Pierce happy to have another Jayhawk. I'm
also terrified by the Brandon Wright's being descirbed as "too cool and
casual...the mean streak isn't there."
Longshot -- Corey Brewer (can you tell i'm a Gator fan?) -- He would be
our Tony Allen insurance since he's the same type of defender... not quite
as dynamic offensively but is worth a pick in the low teens, high 20s.

-----------------
I love Hibbert. I would consider him anywhere outside the top 2. That's
higher than most have him rated, but I think he has big-time potential.
Greg Oden is turning it on, by the way. I've never been more afraid of
the Brain Doctor's influence. I can just see him looking at Durant and
saying he has an MJ brain type, and Danny jumping all over it. Durant is
a great player, and if we get No. 2, I'll be thrilled to have him. But
Oden is a monster in the middle. If we had any other GM, I'd feel
confident he'd do the right thing. But Danny has a tendency to outsmart
himself.

I;m glad someone answered my question about
Hibbert. I just don't get a chance to see many college
games, but I'm planning to catch up on then during
this fiasco that startss thsis week. Only problem you
can't watch them all at once.
