The Gull & Bull

I don't think anyone has said Jefferson and green suck. I am their
biggest critic and I don't think they suck, I just don't think Jefferson
is an all-star and I think Gerald is far away from us knowing what he
is.

More than anything, I have been bothered by their consistent
inconsistencies (an oxymoron for the brain doctor who is simply a
moron).

I give al credit, he played like an all-star yesterday. Let's see if he
can bring intensity in back to back games. Like I have said all along,
I hope I am wrong about those two and they are all-stars for years. I
just wouldn't bet on it.

I hope you're right, but I don't think Jerry West is that gullible. I
hardly
believe he's saying "Wow, I can get a rookie, a third string point guard
from the worst team in the league not just this year (Celtics), but last
year too (Portland), AND a guy who's entire knee is mashed potatoes!"
Where
do I sign?

Considering he was holding out for both Jefferson and Green for the
trade
deadline (plus this years' pick) and that the deal would've been done by
Ainge (by all accounts) if West had lowered the offer to one or the
other of
Jefferson/Green and next years pick I don't think he is that gullible.
The
Bulls were offering something like Thomas, Deng or Gordon, a cap
equalizing
contract and a 2008 pick (or similar I'm not intimately familiar with
Chicago news) and West didn't take that either.

No one said Gasol is the second coming. The post was directed at those
around here that say Jefferson and Green suck ("wouldn't start on any
team
in the league" - which I don't personally agree with - Jefferson is a
stud
in the making) - I merely argued that side of the debate to offer that
this
year the Celtics are in a position of relative strength going into the
off-season, Ainge is on the hot seat, and even if the 1st or 2nd pick
doesn't fall our way there are methods to increase the veteran presence
on
this team with comparative or slightly better skill.

------------------------------------------
Gasol is possible if packaging high pick + Theo + Telfair/Tony Allen.
