Apologies for the delays, but I'm slowly catching up. I would be
totally current but for the large amount of Celtics-related news that
I'm ALSO trying to keep current. I'm hoping to have things brought
totally current by next week. Thanks for everyone's patience!

This info can also be found at the CBW and at the celticsstuff live site.

So long, we hardly knew ye...
Three people saw their predictions miss in November and December.

Nov 11, 2006: Mrs. Celtics Beagle (78-4) barely had time to enjoy
being on the list before the Cleveland Cavaliers handed the C's their
5th loss just 6 games into the season.

Nov 29, 2006: Snoopy the Celtics Beagle (74-8) once again was more
optimistic than the season would prove. as the Nets handed the C's loss #9.

Dec 04, 2006: drakkie (72-10) fell from contention, as did the
Celtics, to Chicago

M*A*S*H* 2007, or "OUCH"
As insult (from ESPN, Sports Illustrated, among others) was literally
added to injury, the Celtics were left with only the very end of
their bench to contend against some of the best teams in the
NBA. Yet few people were willing to admit the guys were playing
heroically, well beyond their years, and often holding their own,
especially after Delonte West was hurt, followed by Tony Allen, who
was done for the year. Theo Ratliff was likewise gone for the season
just as the month started. This saw some large scale damage to the
predictions hopes of a large chunk of participants at a time of year
that normally has few dropouts from the list.

Jan 15, 2007: Alex (58-24) was the first to leave in the month of
January, as the Atlanta Hawks administered a loss to the C's on
Martin Luther King day. And the C's losing streak wasn't even that
bad as yet...

Jan 20, 2007: jopaullo (56-26) went down in a game against the
Wizards. By this time, Boston's record was mired at 12-27, their
last win more than three weeks previously.

Jan 22, 2007: Mr. Poulin (55-27) saw his prediction fall in the very
next game, against the Spurs.

Jan 24, 2007: IamaCeltic, Mtrue, and punkisdad (54-28) all lost, as
did the Celtics to the Hawks, for the 2nd time in 10 days.

Jan 26, 2007: i00ptirish and wigglestrue (53-29) were both gone from
the list, as Toronto beat Boston.

Jan 28, 2007: Anne "Snoopy" Cankosyan, Ellie Cutler, and Ryan3Gomes
(52-30) saw their hopes dashed like the Celtics were, once more at
the hands of the Wizards.

Jan 30, 2007: Roger S. Belanger, David J. Boutte, Jim Hill, and UGA
Hayes (51-31) had to see the Pacers continue the losing streak.

Jan 31, 2007: Celticfanman, Celtickid, Celtics33 at FLA, CF00, Fatty,
Frederick Hurley, Lance Gee, Green_for_life, Mafiaso316, Bill Messer,
and pierceainge (50-32) made the largest group yet to drop from
contention as no less than the &$%&$%#$#*^*^# Lakers beat the Celtics. AAUGH!

You want Doc to play what?
February saw things get worse with the Celtics injury situation. By
now we knew for Certain Tony Allen was done for the season--and maybe
the Calendar year. Wally Szczerbiak couldn't seem to keep his ankles
working, and just when Pierce's foot was getting better, his elbow
gave him trouble. Coach Doc Rivers was already playing in the
practices, and I wondered if he'd have to come off the bench and play
the point himself! With the losiong streak getting longer and the
All-Star Break looming, would the Celtics be able to turn it around somehow?

Feb 02, 2007: 35lewis35, danielthemaniel, Datruth345, eddietours,
FlCeltsFan, R Howe, Thomas Murphy, Shocker, L Supreme, and TELFAIR#30
(49-33) all saw the Clippers beat Boston in a close one.

Feb 06, 2007: Bob, Derrenmatts, dforant1, JB, Manchvegas Bob,
Mulcogi, Eddie Santana, and Eric Weiss (48-34) agonized as the
Pistons also beat Boston in a close game.

Feb 07, 2007: asterix9_9, Celtics17, Darth Celtic, Greg Dickerson,
Jughead, ParticleMan, and surferdad (47-35) were forced to watch the
Good Guys endure a thrashing by the Heat.

Feb 09, 2007: AleX2NicE, CalderCup, Canman1971, DorfonCeltics,
JiriMania, jtcraider2002, Gene Kirkpatrick, Steve Ouellette, Red's
Army, Ricky to Blount, Roadrunner, sexyscottish, thebirdman, venkat,
and ZekeMowattFan (46-36) watched the Nets pound the Celtics.

Feb 11, 2007: AlexG, BadWolf, BCHISTORIAN, bdodgers, bostonfan23,
Celticpal, Chris, Kyle Cleric, Cyclical, darrendaye, douglas342, Gary
Dzen, Roy Enrile, Esco33, Katli, Kirk, Ken Mattina, Jon Mendoza,
MikeDfromNP, Quinielabox, Pasquale, PDeMaio, Pocket MD, Aussie
Russman, and wiseguys (45-37) watched the wrenching loss handed us by
Minnesota as Ricky Davis hit the winning shot.

ALL-STAR BREAK: as of this point of the season Boston is 13-38, as 94
of the original 237 prognosticators have fallen by the wayside. If
the Celtics lose five more games, another 97 people--more then
two-thirds of the entire list--will fall from contention. The C's
need to win eight more games to drop the prognosticator with the
least amount of wins predicted (Celtics_History_Lesson, 20-62).
