When I first read it last night I thought it was a rumor, I kept checking ESPN hoping it wasn't true...
Adding Allen is fine but giving up the 5th pick in the best draft in 5 years for a 32 year old coming off surgery on BOTH ankles...WHAT were they smoking...
The only thing I can think of is that they are going the Miami-Shaq route (without the proven championship caliber player). If all goes according to plan, the C's will be very competative in the East next year, probably making the 2nd round of the playoffs. In two years they will be back in deep lottery territory. Seeing the way Ainge operates, they will probably have traded away the 2009 pick by then...
Isn't there an NBA rule about trading draft picks two years in a row to prevent stupid GM's from killing their teams future for the allure of over the hill stars? Didn't the C's just do this by trading their 2 highest picks in decades (7 and 5)?
