Recent History and Future?

EVERY championship for the last 20 years has been won by a team who's main leader (or TRUE franchise player) was picked with either the first or third pick.  The list is VERY short:

87, 88             Lakers      E. Johnson   #1
89, 90             Pistons     I. Thomas     #1
91, 92, 93        Bulls        M. Jordan     #3
94, 95              Rockets   H. Olajuwon  #1  
96, 97, 98        Bulls        M. Jordan     #3
99, 03, 05, 07   Spurs      T. Duncan     #1
00, 01, 02        Lakers     S. O'Neal      #1
04                   Detroit     C. Billups      #3
05                   Miami      S. O'Neal      #1

Unless a team has a player like these, they can never be true contenders, never more than championship pretenders...I window of opportunity is opening.  O'Neal is on his last legs, Billups is declining and age will eventually catch up with Duncan.  So the obvious question is who are the 2-3 players that will dominate the championship rings for the next several years?  James?  Anthony? Oden?

Unfortunately I don't see any of them in Celtics green which is what makes the events of May 22 even more of a downer...
