FWIW I've always imagined that a KG deal would include Wally Sz going back
to MIN -- (a) since they did not get along and KG might say "i'm not
reporting" and (b) it would give someone who by all accounts the fans
there liked to sell the fans on until the younguns take over.

We in turn would take a few of their cap eaters -- Troy Hudson + Marko
Jaric... But maybe not. I just don't see Wally & KG playing together
again.

Yeah... I don't think it's as bad as you seem to make out, since
there are young players still here who I genuinely believe will
develop despite Doc and whose development KG may even help by helping
to instill some of the more disciplined play we badly need. I think
we win more than even a healthy bunch of the current players would
have managed. And I'm not necessarily wholly opposed to an 8 man
regular rotation with others getting more occasional minutes - Doc
seems damned if he does, damned if he doesn't there, with people
complaining because he has no regular rotation and complaining when
he does. But neither do I think it's a team that takes us close to a
championship anytime soon, which is the object of the exercise.. With
the clock ticking on out older players. And as you augmented my cap
comments to note - we're not just handcuffed this season on further
moves because of cap, we're handcuffed as long as the big contracts last.

Hey, I do like freeing up some roster spots for maneuverability
though : ) Among other things, it lets us deal someone like Wally for
multiple players, the only way that's likely to happen.
