maybe Big Al Jefferson won't ever be The Big Ticket... but so far he's not
that far off -- his numbers are fairly close to KG's
(pts/reb/asst/blk/stl):
in their 3rd seasons:
KG 18/10/4/2/2
AJ 16/11/1/1/1 (18/11/2 if we just count his post-injury 2nd half)
at the same age (22 yo):
KG 21/10/4/1/2
AJ 16/11/1/1/1 (18/11/2 if we just count his post-injury 2nd half)

He doesn't seem quite as driven as KG, but he's not too far off, IMO. So
if he's not going to be as good as KG, what do folks think he'll become...
80% of KG? 75%? just curious.

Don't know if I'd do this trade, but the Celtics would have to seriously
consider it.
Not sure how this would be considered giving up half the team. Big Al
would be a huge, gigantic loss -- but he's never going to be Garnett. In
the low post and on the glass maybe, but not with the overall game and the
defense. But who knows what to expect from Gerald? Ratliff and Telfair are
ballast, and the No. 5 is no guaranteed star (Yi? Brandon Wright?
Brewer?). That's giving up one key member of the rotation for a Top Ten
player. Have to think about it.
To answer Mark, that wouldn't be building around Pierce, it would be
building around Garnett. Two legitimate all-stars in their prime, mix in
Rondo, Delonte, Allen, Perk, Gomes, Wally (reunited!) ... That is a
contender in the East for the next three or four years.
