Last night Sean Grande made mention of this on the Celticstuff Live show
and wondered why it wasn't tickling the fancy of more fans and since all
these trade and draft scenarios were being floated it wasn't being
floated.
I thought about it for a second (as someone who really wanted KG) and
thought that the diff. between even mid-season and now -- FOR ME -- has
been the emergence of Big Al. I'm 95% against a move for KG involving
Al...There's a part of me (5%) that agrees with something Grande said
about you can't fault the team for taking that shot, but in general it's a
no-go if Jefferson is involved.
I doubt very much that Ainge would move Jefferson after the improvmeent
he's been making.
Building around Pierce ---- t might not be the correct basketball decision
to build around Pierce Mark B., but it bears mentioning in light of all
teh Kobe drama that out of the Pierce-Kobe-Carter-TMac quartet that was
being heralded as the next great stars in the second Post=Jordan era,
Pierce has been the only one of them not to (a) force a trade and/or (b)
quit on his teamates. In fact Pierce was back weeks after being stabbed
(!!!).
Pierce is who he is, but he was always the one out of that quartet who was
the truest ballplayer and certainly a true celtic. TMac has always been
overhyped IMO, Carter openly quit on Toronto, Kobe has forced Shaq, Phil
jax and now himself out of LA, and there was the Eagle, CO, saga. Each
might have better nubmers, but I think Pierce is the best of them and i'm
glad he's the one we've had --- for better and worse.

I'm not sure how I feel about this deal - I'm a big fan of Jefferson - but
it would if nothing else be a bold move, and you have to give credit to a
GM who will pull the trigger.
