I am fully aware the AK was named to the all defensive team, but so was Kobe Bryant. I personally think that naming people "all defensive" in basketball is very subjective and rather silly.

Let me out this a diiferent way. Utah gave up 98.62 points per game (number 17 out of 30 teams). Guess who was number 18 with 99.23 points per game? The Boston Celtics.

Asterix -- i think you are missing something.

AK may be a tweener -- but a good kind like Marion & Prince. He's made 2
all-defensive 2nd teams and one 1st team. 2 years back (when boozer was
hurt) he made the 5x5 a speacialty -- 5 or more pts, reb, ast, blks, stls

what a i don't know is if he's the same kind of impact player that a J
O'neal or Gasol (or the #5 pick might be down the line...)

I'd rather trade Wally, Green and Gomes for AK....

PS. I too hate Perk #5 for the #3

Am I missing something here? Would someone please tell me what AK brings
to this team that we need?

Seems to me he's just another soft on defense tweener with a 10pt a game
career average. He plays the same postion as a number of guys on the
team. If we really want to add another guy in that spot, I would prefer
that we stay put and grab Brewer who can bring some "D".

I think the only place I've heard the Perk rumor is here. This may be
its origin and only dwelling place.

Glad to see someone mention Kirilenko though. That may be the most
realistic veteran option available. He's not happy in Utah, they're not
happy with him, and the Jazz could use the No. 5 to get Brewer, who would
fill a need.
