If we can get Durant a Gervin/McAdoo/Bird combo for the next 10 years you move Pierce.

Durant, Al , Rondo and Green and/or Allen for the next 5-10 would be an awesome nucleus

We should offer Pierce & the #5, or if they want Pierce & Green then we take Brewer at 5

Subject: trade options ?

Number one let me state for the record I do not advocate what I am about to ask. "Just in case" question that comes from pre-draft evaluation of where we (the C's) are in comparison to short and long term goals where all options are explored.

Lets say after careful consideration by the brain-trust that they feel they need to consummate a Block-buster trade that involves Pierce either alone or with any assets on the team including pick(s), Jefferson, expiring contract. What could be had or what would be targets? Realize this would mean that the C's would be blowing up the team in wanting to dramatically change course in who they want to build a team around. I do not think this is the case.

In exploring this question, no matter how far fetched, it helps affix a value of the C's as a whole and its cornerstone players that the C's are trying to build a contender around. If the answer is not a lot of interest from the rest of the league, without mentioning specific scenarios, then that would show that that there might need radically change direction or that there is a long ways to go in developing value with existing players. Opinions of value from other teams of course would be low just because of the season we just had and what we might fetch from a player as good as Pierce would naturally be depressed.

That said if management feels there are two or three future all-stars that can be had from this draft (besides Oden & Durrant) you could see management at least mull this possibility. I would think using Paul as a center piece (maybe with other sweeteners) in a trade could bring in some pick(s) in addition of a true starter and a emerging star or two?

Any thoughts along these lines?
