I hear CelticsThug also is predicting a big runup in
Webvan stock. Anyhoo, Shira's blog says:
"Because of all the contracts involved, the league may
not officially sign off on the trade tonight and
Garnett's contract still needed to be reworked. ...
Slowing down the trade/approval process is the fact
that Garnett is on a cruise until the end of this
week."
But the deal, Bulpett and others say, is happening:
"The last sticking point in the Celtic-Minnesota deal
has been identified, and the sides were working this
afternoon to clear that final hurdle. The bottom line
is that the deal will get done."
I wish that those final sticking points involved, say,
swapping out Powe for Gomes or getting another player
back from Minnesota. According to RealGM, you could
still do this deal without Gomes or with Craig Smith.
But it sounds like the "sticking point" is about
accounting minutiae, trade kickers, etc.
