LOL, It's the battle of the grammatically-tragic rumor
mongers at Real GM... LOL, imagine if this is true,
Darius Miles, isn't he suppose to retire?

I know for a fact this guy is lying. He completely
made this up. The Celtics had to reevaluate the value
of Gerald Green at the Vegas Summerleague and from
everything we've been hearing, Ainge is going for
broke and has been in serious discussions with
Portland about aquiring Darius Miles and one of their
point guards for a package of Ratliff and Gerald
Green.
A few things: Ainge and Doc have a vision of being
"Phoenix East" of some sorts... they believe a small
unit, running game with Al Jefferson at Center will
work. They have been looking hard all offseason in
aquiring a long athletic player who can fill in at
multiple positions and play PF next to Al. They came
very close to aquiring Marion earlier in the
offseason, but those conversations fizzled when both
KG and Marion both made it clear they wouldn't play in
Boston. They talked briefly to CHA about a
sign-and-trade for Gerald Wallace, but that never
amounted to anything. They also had some conversations
with Utah about Ak47, but those conversations were
never as hot as people on this board assumed... Utah
isn't looking to move him and feel his value is at an
all time low.
Ainge now has set his sights on Darius Miles as the
long 6-9 player who can fill in at PF (essentially the
same size as AK47). The league has changed and the
Celtics are looking to adapt.
Note: Portland is looking to build a young nucleus
around Greg Oden. They initially expected Martel
Webster to get starters minutes and are figuring out
how Channing Frye will fit into the rotation. Darius
Miles appears to be the odd man out. They are looking
to start fresh and he'd be the final move in their
"house cleaning". They see Gerald Green as a guy who
could potentially compete with Martell Webster for
minutes down the line... and would like to cut ties
with Miles and his salary regardless.
Concerns: From what I'm hearing, the only thing
holding up this trade is concerns about Mile's health
after coming off microfracture surgery, but all the
news they have heard is very positive. The success of
players like Amare make this less of a problem and
Ainge isn't that worried... Miles is still only 25 and
the feeling is that he has yet to peak. You need to
only look back to his numbers in December of 05 when
he averaged 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists,
1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks on 49% shooting to see why
this is considered a medium risk, high reward move.
Additionally, Portland and Boston are going back and
forth on which of the young Portland point guards they
are willing to include.
Bottom Line: You heard it from me. The chances you see
Darius Miles in Celtic Green next year are 100% more
likely than seeing Shawn Marion on the team."
