thoughts on available big men

I still think that whether or not Ratliff plays (and as people have
pointed out a contract year can be the most powerful elixer for the
injured, unmotivated, etc.) we desperately need some more size up front.

I love the hustle of Powe & Davis and am comfortable with Perkins starting
(esp. given our offensive firepower).  I believe that any of these players
could be had in the $1-3 MIL range --- even better would be to do a
sign-and-trade using Brian Scalabrine (I actually think he could be a nice
fit on a team like NO, MIL or SA).


Melvin Ely --- San Antonio may try and bring him back and he's probably
looking for the most money, but he'd be our #1 big off the bench and could
possibly push Perk for the starting job.


Brian Skinner --- don't think the Bucks are going to resign him. I was
hoping we'd sign him when Doc came on board and was talking about the need
for attitude.


Marc Jackson --- veteran banger


Jake Tsakalidis --- could probably be had for the least $ and might be the
most available due to the numbers crunch in HOU.  He looked decent for
MEM. I could handle him playing 15 mins and he's a legit Center not a 6-9
guy filling in...
