Word from the Midwest says that Danny Ainge has set his sights on
acquiring a new Point Guard for Boston, and is deep in talks
involving Snoopy, the Celtics Beagle. Sources say that while Ainge
is not inclined to use the MLE, they will discuss a couple of crates
of Mrs. Field's chocolate chip cookies.

Mrs. Celtics Beagle is said to be holding out for an unprotected
second round draft pick in 2008, plus extra chocolate.

Reaction around the NBA was swift and heartfelt. Tommy Heinsohn
said, "Thank God, maybe the little bastard will stop pestering me for
Tommy Points on his damn website."

Commissioner Stern appeared relieved, and League sources quote the
Commissioner reportedly stating that the "next time the ratfink
beggar calls me "King David I", I'll hit him with a fine that'd make
Cuban break out in a sweat."

Coach Isaiah Thomas of the Knicks stated, "We'll be running some
"special defensive" plays for him. I CAN read, y'know, and someone
showed me his site."

Paul Shirley said, "Shit, the last thing the NBA needs is a literate
player with a website and too much time on his hands."

Online reaction has been equally strong, with noted raconteur
Eggcentric burying her face in her hands and screaming, "Dear God,
Danny, just shoot me NOW." Way of the Ray erupted in a fit of
prolonged hysterical laughter, and the famous "Pit" of
"Celticsstufflive" crashed when everyone simultaneously typed
variations of "WTF?" at once.

For his own part, the cookie muncher has been scrupulous in saying
how much he'd like to play for the Celtics. "Screw Garnett, let him
freeze his ass off in Minnesota while kissing Kevin's ass. I love the
idea of playing for the C's. I can sit on the bench until it's my
turn to walk the ball upcourt and pass to Pierce or Allen, when I'm
not dribbling into the teeth of the offense.....oh, are we
on? ...ahem...I mean, I'll do my part in the athletic uptempo
offense and distribute the ball crisply to whomever is open."

Well....you never know. It COULD happen....maybe? :)
