Patrick -- do you write headlines for the Airforce? Someone should be
paying you for some of these post titles.

While not as staunch in my support of Telfair's play as Ryan W. is/was,
this is why i posed the original question... I remember thinking that
Telfair shouldn't be the starting PG (I think that was a stretch by Doc...
I don't know what Delonte had done to not get it and it clearly messed
with Delonte along with some nagging injuries to start the season).

But once i got past that i remember feeling like Telfair wasn't as
horrible as (a) he looked at the end of this season and (b) as he's been
made out to be on parts of this list and elsewhere in the blogosphere.

Yes his Defense is lacking --- but that doesn't make him too different
than a lot of guys. And you made the good poitn that our offense's
initiation isn't built around the PG -- like an offense should be -- and i
think that hurts a guy like Telfair a bit. JB has gone on record as
worrying if/how it will stunt Rondo's development too. It's always
mystified me why we'er more comfortable with the ball in
Raef/Perk/Jefferson's hands at the high post than even a mediocre PG who's
been playing that position (passer) his whole life. ugh.

The point is moot to a certain degree b/c there's no doubt that Rondo has
passed him on the depth chart -- forever. And I think most of us are glad
for Rondo -- think he'll be real good. But I also wouldn't have as big a
problem as Telfair being our backup as i would, say, if we don't add
another big.

the only "fact" here is that i'm
(the other) mark

Wow.

I'd forgotten we had one ultimate Telfair cheerleader here.

One man's "fact" is another man's political promise.

So your contention is we went to a more slow down, half court offense AFTER
Pierce got hurt? Really?

Your contention is that it was the offense that demoted Telfair? Not his
defense nor his off the court idiocy with firearms and rapper's entourages?
Really?

How about this "fact" then since we're so casually throwing them out
there:...Sebastian Telfair will never get another contract other then the
league minimum (if any at all) for the rest of his career in a league where
money is thrown around like confetti at an Italian wedding. And with GMs
like Ainge, I. Thomas, and McHale around - that's saying something.
