Sean, I assume you're counting Scalabrine as a high-priced free-agent
acquisition rather than a 2nd round pick?

I'm usually one of the more glass half-full types where the Cs are
concerned (and admittedly still trying to live down my enthusiasm over the
Acie Earl pick). I have fond memories of Lorenzo Williams, Derek Strong,
and Eric McArthur. But at this point I'm drumming my fingers with the
rest of you.

Danny doesn't seem to understand that drafting the 23rd best player in the
draft at 50 or signing a marginally useful contributor (which Wallace may
or may not be and which Ray is NOT) doesn't make him a good GM - at least
not when he's trading Brandon Roy for Sebastian Telfair. He's simply a
deck chair shuffler at this point. Pierce and Allen are excellent
players, but they aren't Jordan and Pippen - and the Cs certainly don't
have any Horace Grants, Dennis Rodmans, Toni Kukocs, or Steve Kerrs.

I like Gomes. I like Powe. I'm intrigued by Big Baby. But a roster full
of "glue guys" makes no sense, particularly when one doesn't have a coach
capable of making the most of such limited resources. Enough glue, Danny.
Go get some horses. And if the truth is that Wyc/Pag and the rest of the
"Banner 17" won't spend the $ necessary to do that, then sell the damn
team to someone who will.
