Wallace signs

LAS VEGAS — The Celtics have signed undrafted free agent Brandon  
Wallace to a contract. The deal was completed in the last hour.

Wallace, who has very much impressed the basketball staff after being  
moved to small forward during practice last week, will get a two-year  
deal.

There was some urgency to the signing, in that Wallace was  
unrestricted and free to go where he wanted after not being selected  
on June 28. But both sides very much wanted to get a deal done, and  
there was that expectation from the time Danny Ainge began talking to  
agent Eric Fleisher over the weekend.
